Love the love for the variety, my friend!

For those of you in the bay area, plan on going to the Rhone Rangers tasting at Fort Mason the last weekend in March - there'll be plenty of examples of the variety produced domestically for your pleasure . . . including barrel samples of my soon-to-be-bottled 2009 version!

Cheers!

Hi Jack - Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this wine. Perhaps the 2010 is better than the 2007. Or perhaps we have different palates. Either way, I'll try to pick up the latest vintage and give it another go. I'd love to have a Texas Rhone-style wine that I really dig. Cheers!

We enjoyed a bottle of the 2010 Prairie Rotie last evening. Both my wife and I agreed that we would buy a case of this. Although we live in Texas we typically have avoided Texas wines until recently. We have found some excellent wines here from Becker, Bending Branch and Solaro to name a few. Also nearly all the grapes are from Texas vineyards now. Try this 2010 Prairie Rotie and see if you still think its mediocre.

Hi Jude - I really like the ancient vines wines as well, but some vintages this Syrah is my favorite wine in Cline's lineup. You should also try to get your hands on their Small Berry Mourvedre if you haven't tried it before. It may only be available through the club or tasting room, though. Thanks for the comment.
